Other Experience at Oklahoma State University

...

Shown here is a solar balloon launch I assisted with near El Paso. Due to high winds, a helium balloon was required to begin the launch.

Prior to my involvement with NASA internships and challenges, I took part in a few different activities at my university.

In the fall of 2021 I began working at Oklahoma State University's IT Helpdesk part-time. My role as a phone agent was to answer calls from students, faculty, and alumni across multiple campuses and to assist with any issue relating to technology. I resolved hundreds of hardware, software, and networking issues on the spot. This job was challenging at first, but ultimately significantly improved my communication, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.

I then moved on to a job more closely related to mechanical and aerospace engineering. I worked at Oklahoma State University’s Unmanned Space Research Institute as an undergraduate research assistant. I assisted in the design, construction, launch, and recovery of solar balloons as part of a NASA and Sandia National Laboratories funded research campaign.
